São Paulo hosts the SP Open Pickleball Tournament: The court phenomenon takes over the weekend.

The upcoming weekend in São Paulo promises to be noisy — but in the way we like it. Between February 27th and March 1st, the city of São Paulo will host the SP Open - PKB 1000, organized by the São Paulo Pickleball Federation (FPP). With over 320 registered athletes, the event is establishing itself as one of the most important stages of the national calendar, awarding 1,000 points for the official ranking.

🎾 What to expect from the tournament?

The SP Open isn't just for professionals. The event's structure was designed to embrace the entire "pickle" community, divided into various categories that guarantee competitiveness for all levels:

  • PRO and Advanced Categories: Where things get serious. Expect quick ball exchanges (the famous "dinks ") and sharp reflexes.

  • Seniors (50+, 60+ and 70+): One of the most competitive categories, proving that pickleball is the sport of longevity.

  • Youth and Kids: The new generation from São Paulo is strong, with a special focus on developing the youth system.

  • Beginners and Intermediate: A space for those who have recently caught up in the "craze" and want to experience the competitive atmosphere for the first time.

📍 Location and Atmosphere

The matches take place in the network of arenas accredited by the FPP in São Paulo. The atmosphere at pickleball tournaments is known for being a mix of competitiveness with a festival vibe: music, social areas, and lots of interaction between players.

📈 Why is the SP Open important?

Being a PKB 1000 tournament, it has the weight of a state "Grand Slam". The results here define who starts ahead in the race for the top of the 2026 ranking and who secures a spot for the inter-state clashes that will take place throughout the year.
